Looking for a Valentine’s Day Wine? Dr. Nadia Virani Has a Recommendation

Nadia Virani, OD, kicks off her wine recommendation with one of her all-time favorites. So whether you’re toasting to your sweetie or friends or enjoying some quiet time, consider a Pinot Blanc.

Here’s what Dr. Virani says.

Pinot Blanc or Pinot Bianco is my favorite white!

–          It is made from a pinot noir grape that has a mutation that causes it to be genetically irregular.

–          The grape is typically grown in volcanic soil.

–          It is mostly found in Northern Italy (Where I personally fell in love with it!) or Germany.

–          The wine has a dry, light body, medium acidity, fruity aromas, typically vinified in a tank.

–          Pair it with foods with a subtle flavor, such as salads or mild cheeses.
