National Vision Opens 2023-2024 Scholarship Program

National Vision invites third- and fourth-year optometry students to share their perspective on “Increasing Access to Eye Care for Children” for a chance to win a $7,500 scholarship.

Hear from previous winners of the National Vision scholarship.

In a 500-word essay or short video, students can share why proper vision care is important for all children and how they plan to play a role in helping children receive the vital care they need, regardless of their financial situation.

Healthy vision plays a significant role in a child’s success and happiness, both at school and socially. Unfortunately, many families may not be able to prioritize their child’s eye care and visual needs because they either don’t have insurance or the income readily available.

Apply here.

National Vision is driven by the goal to help bring sight to those in need of vision correction, no matter their budget. In announcing the scholarship (look here for more details and how to apply), National Vision says, “We want to hear your perspective as a future optometrist on the importance of prioritizing eye care at a young age, as well as how you plan to aid in making regular eye exams more accessible to children from all financial backgrounds. You are encouraged to cite any credible sources that support the need for increased accessibility and affordability in pediatric eye care. You can also share any projects or programs you have been involved with during school that have focused on this area.”
