Time and stress management is key for members of the sandwich generation — those who are experiencing the dual stress of supporting growing children and caring for – or at least concerned about – aging parents. Sally Halim, OD, of Woolwich, New Jersey, talks about how this phase of life requires her to prioritize her personal goals while she supports her children, helps her parents begin their planning for aging and keeps her practice going.

She knows she is really lucky to have her parents able to help, but as the kids’ schedules get busier and her parents start to slow down, she’s trying to get ahead of some of the planning for this phase of life.
