Facebook Ranks as Most Effective Social Media Platform

The majority of respondents (85 percent) to a recent Women In Optometry Pop-up Poll stated that Facebook was the most effective social media platform for promoting their practices.

The management of social media business accounts varied among those who responded. Thirty-two percent said that one designated staff member manages their social media accounts, while 29 percent said that they personally took on this responsibility. Twenty-one percent of respondents said it was a group effort among their practice team, and 18 percent said that they outsource social media management.

About 40 percent of respondents said that they dedicate a few minutes per day—less than one hour per week—to their professional social media accounts.
